The story I'm writing is sort of really dramatic to a point.

I prefer third person omniscient. That way, you know absolutely everything about absolutely everyone. The author is in total control. With first person, you really only know about the main character, the one talking.
First person is great, too, don't get me wrong, but most useful if you're writing a humorous story, rather than just anything. I only use that one if I'm trying to be funny.
I notice you didn't mention second person. I understand. It is my least favorite of the ways.

I like first person point of view better. It gives you a better feel of the character. Anyone can look out on someone else and tell about them. But it gives you a sense of "I" What I did...how I did it. What I felt. You get feelings and emotions and I feel like I connect with the book better when it is in the first person.

You have a similar spelling of your name to my niece. My niece's name is LeiLana though. Thought you should know; I love that name.

Now to answer your question. I prefer telling a story 1st person. I know its lame, but telling a story in the 1st person is more enjoyable.

I prefer third person, it is easy for simple persons to understand and enjoy.
