That is not always the case. It all depends on the sex drive of the individual, the pressures of society and the way the person was raised as to how promiscuous they will be.

If your girl is a strict church goer and raised to be a real prude, then that is what you get.

If she is allowed to run wild and do what ever then that will be the type of person she will be.

I assume you meant, on average. I see the " ideological police " drove up to this question and are spouting anecdote about : ideological equality " here. That prompts me to ask. Why do about 40% of all women report never having orgasms? I do not know that females " need " less sex that men, all that we know for sure is, that testosterone is the hormone of desire. Men have this hormone at an average ten times the amount that women do.

PS I can not believe that people are still answering this question in a discontinuous manner. The asker said " women ", which implies all women, on average. He did not indicate that he wanted individual data points; anecdotal indication. He would of said " woman ", then. This is a common problem in social science; to get you people to think statistical and continuously. We study populations, but deal with individual people. You are confusing the two.

I can tell you from experience that this is not always the case. My ex husband wanted it day and night, anytime, anywhere, with just about anyone. He is a sick s.o.b. (other factors make me say this). But my fiance wants way less sex than I do. He doesn't seem to 'require' it as much as I do. But, then again, he is in his 50s and I am in my 40s, so I am at my sexual peak, or so I have heard. It all depends on the sexual drive of each person, their perceptions and ideas about sex and how often it should be, how much they enjoy it, etc. Some also have higher hormones than others (from what I have heard and learned, testosterone--the male hormone--is the main one for the higher sex drive). There could also be medical reasons why someone doesn't want sex as often (meds they take, ED for men, etc).

You must of herd this from the guys? Or read it in a magazine somewhere....
This is not true. Some women have a healthy sex drive, we may not boast about it to others. Men like to brag even if they do not engage in this activity they will still lie about it.
Women do not see things this way, or well some older women don't. Kids of today seam to think it is cool, the girls that is....
So in conclusion women don't need less sex we just look at it different then the male species does...

What women are you talking about? I am a 23 year old woman. I was married for 5 years, and after so long got tired of having a husband who was selfish in bed as well as in life. At that time, no, I hated sex and had no interest in it. Then I hooked back up with my first love and we have sex a few times a day. We can't get enough of each other and some of the time he does it only because he can see that I have a desire to do so. Basically, some of the time I initiate to that extent where he does it to make me happy, not because he wants it. Some of the time he initiates. If your woman wants less sex than you, you're doing something wrong in the bedroom and she either doesn't want to tell you, feels she can't tell you, or is just fed up with telling you and being ignored.

I'm with blankman and think that Jerry should be ignored. Asking men this question is silly. Unless they're going to give you a clinical answer, they can't know what a woman thinks/feels.

I go with the testosterone theory, myself. Women (at least all the ones I know) just don't have the urgency that men do/feel to have sex. They think about it less. They want it less. It's Darwin's theory proved. Men want to propogate and women want to raise their children. Monkeys and other mammals are very similar.

Not all women are like that. You need to find one that is as excited about sex as you are. Or, if you are already married, may be she is tired. Try helping with the house, the kids. Being a mother takes a lot out of you. You have other things to worry about besides sex.

Heh, that's not true at all. I've got a much higher sex drive than most of the guys I've dated, and all of my female friends have that certain time of the month when it's all we can do not to drag random men into convenient closets.

Scientifically speaking (i.e. what research has shown so far), they don't.

The remarkable differences between the sex drives of the two genders is that: Women's sexual drive and activity are more VARIABLE than these of men. This implies:

1) Variability throughout a given woman's lifetime. (i.e., there are times when she can need sex badly and others that she can completely abstain from any sexual activity)

2) Variability between women. (i.e., some women can have a remarkably higher sex drive (e.g., Samantha from Sex & the City) than others)
