I got a brand new Ipod Video for Christmas and it is saying "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod screen, even though the actually iTunes software reads "fully updated" and the icon on the ipod screen says fully charged. Is it OK to disconnect the iPod? It's been like this for at least three hours? Will it mess up the iPod? PLEASE HELP!

Once you open itunes, beside your ipod icon and the name of your ipod, there is an eject button. you have to click that and the sign will go away. If u still choose to leave it plugged in, it will continue charging. but once the sign goes away you can pull it out.

in case you do this each and all the time, the battery finally lasts 20% or below it used to. that's what surpassed off to my iPod video. I even have an iPod touch now and that i fee it till now that is completely depleted and it lasts 2 hours much less whilst watching video clips (Apple internet site says 5 hours and mine lasts 3) so if iPods are not a each year purchase for you, i desire to propose charging your iPod after that is depleted.

You need to click on the "eject" button that's right next to your ipod name under Devices. In a few seconds a message will appear stating "ok to disconnect."
