I definitely remember my first movie. It was when I was 3 or 4 years old and was Pollyanna during it's first run at the theatre. Reason I remember it so well is that we already had a television (late 50's) and I was familiar with tv. Movies though I was not. I kept asking my parents on the way to the theatre what a movie was and they kept telling me it was "like a big tv". I went into the movie "thoroughly" expecting to see giant channel changing knobs and a huge volume knob to fit the huge screen like the tv at home. I was shocked to see the lack of "controls" and that the picture was being "beamed" at the screen by some guy in a tiny booth way up in the back. Loved the movie, especially since was in Technicolor as our tv was certainly black and white at the time. Not to mention everybody looked "huge" on the big screen. This was in the start of the "cinemascope" mode and the screen was widescreen and beautiful. I have had a crush on Haley Mills every since and remember going to see "The Parent Trap" not long after that when she starred in that one as well. :-) Been a movie fan ever since.

Who knows what that was, but i remember loving 80's movies. Especially Overboard, Sixteen Candles, Jumping Jack Flash, Ghostbusters, Dirty Dancing, Porkeys, Revenge of the Nerds, Police Academy, and Baby Boomers. The list goes on and on. These are movies I liked with purpose and left you with an ending. Not like now where you have to think or wonder.

Sorry Honey that was to many decades ago! I can hardly remember what I watched on TV last night..LOL.
I would guess it may have been something like Snow White the original version put out about 1940....I probably saw it around 1941 or 42....

I really don't know. We lived right near the cinema so we went almost every weekend. I suppose that took the excitement out of my first trip there!

I don't remember. It was 18 years ago. I remember seeing Home Alone in German, because we lived in Austria at the time. And I was about two. But I think I saw things before that. Snow White, maybe, because I seem to remember that.
