Donnie Darko is one of the best, then for a well acted movie with great life lessons there's Alfie. For some dry,but excellent humour watch The Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy. If your a stoner you have to get Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke. Fight Club is still one of my favourite movies.

Dazed and Confused. It's great seeing big stars like Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaghey before they were really famous. Excellent soundtrack also.
The 40-Year-Old Virigin. You'll be rolling.
Step Up. Really good, for a romance.

High Fidelity it has John Cusack, Jack Black, Joan Cusack, it's good. don't you ladies dig John Cusack anyway? give it a go. You'll thank me later. It's one of those movies that's borderline comic romance, but not so much that it's sap, ya know? It's worth a watch.

I'm going to guess gender here and give you suggestions that my daughters really enjoyed.
Johnny Depp's "Finding Neverland" was terrific
"Pride and Prejudice" was wonderfully acted.
"Hitch" makes me laugh every time I see it.
