The largest known (and confirmed) dinosaur is Argentinasaurus, a sauropod (4 legged long-necked plant-eater) from South America (hence the name).

It is estimated to have been 35 metres (115 feet) in length. Weight was perhaps 80 to 100 tonnes.

Other large dinosaurs have also been discovered (all of them sauropods). However, there is much less evidence as to their size. Sauroposeidon is believed to have been taller than (but overall smaller than) Argentinasaurus (the BBC article quoted by chocolate girl is out of date - and most scientists believe argentinasaurus was bigger).

it is called Sauroposeidon and weighed 60 tonnes and stood 18 metres (60 feet) tall. wow tht's BIG!
