I have a HP a500n. The intergrated card on the motherboard that came with the computer is currently disabled because I added a new video card about a year ago. I dont know how to renable it. Also, is it possible to turn it back on without turning the computer on? I was told there are some switches on the motherboard or something but...I dont know what to do with them.

By the way, my computer wont load. It will turn on but it brings up a black screen and a message and refuses to do anything else. So, I need to know how to turn on the card using the motherboard.

And when I say it refuses to do anything, that includes bringing up the BIOS menu.

Not sure about your PC in general, but any computer I have seen, you need to use the BIOS set-up. When the PC is starting, press the delete key (or other key - should say on screen)
Once you enter start-up, look for a tab that says integrated peripherals or something along those lines. Find on-board video and enable it. F-10 to save changes and exit. Make sure to unplug the monitor from the video-card and plug it back into the on-board video connection.

When your computer starts up for the very first time (usually after you hit the power switch) look for something on the screen that says "to enter setup press F1, Delete, etc." Every computer does it differently. but once you get into setup they'res a bunch of options reguarding your computers BIOS settings. The best thing to do is navigate through the various menus and find something that lets you toggle Onboard video on or off. It varies so much with different computer models, they'res no specific order to any one model.

Click start, right-click on My Computer, go to hardware, then device manager. Once in device manager, go down to network adapters, the one that is disabled should have question mark next to it. Right-click it, will see option for enable, do so and it will work. If not using video card, and if stll installed, disable that one. You could go through the hassle of enabling it via motherboard, but why do that? Very simple to do with computer on.
