Whoever is upset with you because you have a couple of c's needs to get off of your back. I had the same problem but I am in college so its different. Just try not to stress on it, figure out what you need to do to get back on track and start again next semester. It happens to the best of us....

Look here, kid. The guy a couple answers above me is absolutely right. C's happen on occasion, and when you are used to getting A's, they suck. The biggest consideration is whether or not you put forth your best effort in compiling these C's. If you did (and be honest about it), then you can take some comfort from the fact that you did the best you could, and I'm sure you still learned a great deal during this grading period.

I know that doesn't help any. My daughter is in ninth grade, and for five of six semesters in middle school, her grade average was a 96 or better, so she is an outstanding student. The only pressure we ever put on her is to give her studies her best effort. We tell her that if she puts that effort into her school work, the grades will follow.

Sometimes you give it your best shot, and the grade just doesn't happen. That stinks, but it doesn't mean the time was wasted. You still learned about the subject (after all, knowledge, not grades is the ultimate goal of education), and it may just be a case that it's taking you a bit longer to "get it" than usual.

If you honestly did your best, try not to get your shorts in a knot. To quote Vince Lombardi (and this is the correct quote, not that BS that a lot of coaches will tell you) "Winning isn't everything, but the effort to win is." Hang in there, kid...you're doing fine.

First, relax, take two deep breaths and realize that no matter how "brilliant" a student you are, no one is perfect here! We all have a few nightmares on our transcripts here and there. Find out why you made those "C's" and don't let it happen again. Maybe you and the teacher were not communicating very well or you misunderstood the assignments, the methods, the problems, etc. Resolve to never repeat it. Prepare your parents. They love you: they'll understand and support you through this. It is tough psychologically getting through this if all of your friends are still making "A's" and you are making "C's" or just barely passing and you keep on studying the material harder and harder. This is getting into the paradoxical principle of "trying too hard" which is a guaranteed path to failure. You get so obsessed with only one or two study methods that you fail to see the big picture of alternatives. It is really too complicated to explain here. If it starts happening again, step back, analyze the situation and see what the problems are and what your options are. There is no shame in getting help in your studies. Don't be a perfectionist who goes it alone and who is afraid to fail.

I guess it depends a bit on why you got the Cs. If it was a really hard subject and you worked hard but had trouble, I think it is understandable. Everyone has difficulty with things from time to time. Since you said you are a straight A student, the Cs were probably not due to laziness or not caring. I would explain why you got them and what you hope to do in order to prevent this from happening in the future. It might be hard to take now, but getting a few bad grades is not the end of the world, I'm sure you'll bounce back and do well next term.

You'll get into trouble because of 2 Cs?

I think whoever that person that means trouble is, you need to cut it with them as soon as possible!

Don't ever depend on someone else!
And don't follow goals set by other people for ya!

And c'mon, people, the kid's got 2 Cs for Christ sake! It's like, you ain't even a student if you only have A's. I say don't even worry about it or "getting back on track"! It doesn't make much difference after u finish school. U know who the most successful people on the planet are? The ones that didn't even finish school! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying u have to drop out of school, but don't put that much importance on how you do in school - it doesn't really matter.

Do better on the next report, if you got C's in something like Art or Gym then I wouldn't worry about it. If it was a subject like Math, Science, Social Studies, English, etc. then explaing where you think you may have had trouble with the work. Maybe you didnt understand a chapter or two in the book and this made your grade slip a little bit? Maybe the work was harder than usual?

Explain to them why you got two C's..If it's in a forgein language class ask your parents if they know how to speak a differnt languar and congugate the verbs correctly and when they say no, say exactly. School is much much harder today then it was when your parents are in school. Tell them your dissapointed in yourself and that you're going to try harder but you just lost focus at some point this semester..

goodluck. :]

Tell your parents ahead of time...talk to your teachers and find out why you have the Cs...find out what you can do to improve the grades. It's not the end of the world...Cs aren't bad grades. I know you are disappointed, but you can change them; you are in control of your destiny here! Good Luck!

Usually being 'straight' will just confuse you. You have to make up your mind.
