I'm being dead honest here as I'm not sure if it'll work. Click Start then go to My Network Connections. Right click your network connection that is your broadband. Then on the menu that pops up click on Create shortcut. Then an icon will appear in the current window, for the connection which you have just created you should then right click it, then choose Send To and choose Desktop from the list.
