How do you swim under water when you are the wolf and you have to go to Midna on the other side of the gate in the sewers? I can't figure out how to go down to the hole...

There should be a chain to lower the water, colinear with Midna and the gate. After you lower the water, the task becomes pretty simple, as you just need to enter the hole, and run through.

You can only swim in link form you cant swim in wolf mode as for the other places im not all that sure
Later in the game you can switch forms freely

The wolf is traditionally a non-swimmer afraid of water.

use your senses and u will find a little sparkling dark spot to the left. dig there and that should get to the other side of the wall if my memory serves me correctly.
