First of all its VERY hard, the best way I would do it and have before, is that I had to take dash completely apart, then take the heater box out and then take it apart and the core will come out. Repeat steps to install.

The Haynes repair manual is still available for the '94 Aerostar. It is part number Haynes 36004 and costs around $15.

It is easy to change the heater core on a few Ford vehicles, but apparently not the Aerostar so checking the manual is good advice.

Here is a photo of the heater core and its dimensions: http://info.rockauto.com/GoDan/Detail2.html?webbase.transpro.com/catalog.php?partnum=398316 .

Do you mean "heater core"? If so, get ready for a hassle. I helped a friend work on his '95, and can tell you from hard experience that Aerostars have virtually zero room to work under the dash. If you've never done it before, it is worth the few extra $ to have a pro do it. If you're dead set on doing it yourself, go to your local Auto Zone or similar store and invest in either a Chilton or Haynes repair manual for the Aerostar. They will have illustrations and instructions listed on how to replace the assembly. Hope this info helped you out.

I've had to change the heater core on several cars that I owned. Every car was different but the one thing that was always the same was, the dash has to come out. On yours, you may not have to but you'll have to work like hell to get it out from under there.
Hint: look under the hood and see where the heater hoses go through the firewall. Are they pretty close to the top? If so, take out the dash!
