Because Carlos & Dave make fun of the characteristics/personalities of the different people. I've yet to hear them saying anything that is racist in nature. They are both very adept at doing it, but Carlos is a little better as he makes me laugh at myself and I am never offended.

Then again, I was watching Duck Soup with the Marx Bros the other day and Harpo made a "darkie" joke and I laughed anyway. I never empower racists by acknowledging their comments. I live my life accordingly and let that be the thorn in their side.

Don't know enough about Chappelle to really comment.

Mencia makes fun of everyone, and hasn't shown any prejudice professionally or as a simple citizen as far as I know...

Mencia (and I think Chappelle) are using the amendment for free speech with flair and intelligence.

If I were you I'd be more concerned with Bill O'Reilly's outright lying on TV, and Ann Coulture's books - she really needs to actually research material rather than making it up like O'Reilly does...

Carlos and Dave pretty much tell it as it is...

And it ain't a pretty picture.

How would you know what they do when they get home.

The reason these guys are successful is that thay poke fun at ALL races, including their own. And, if you observe carfully, they are not making fun of anyone's race. They poke fun at people's ridiculous behaviours.

Mencia doesn't say, "Mexicans are funny!" He says, "Mexican's are funny when they ...." Chapelle's routine is similar. These, and other successfull comics wouldn't be so popular if they simply stood up and annouced "That race is a stupid, funny race because that race is stupid and funny!"

That's the difference between a racist, ranting on a particular ethnic group for no better reason than his not liking that race, and somone else making a commentary on humerous and odd behavior.

By the way, "white" comics manage to do that, too.

There are white comedians who make relaxing of different races and could pull it off. there's a canadian comedian, which i can't look to think of of his call on the 2nd, yet he's a factor of the nubian disciples in Ontario. yet he grew up in an area with a brilliant form of jamaicans, so i think that's what made it greater proper. yet there became yet another who competed in final comedian status. He pulled it off as properly and he's as white as they arrive. it surely relies upon on the way you tell the shaggy dog tale. If human beings be attentive to you at the instant are not a racist and that is easy hearted (in contrast to what richards pronounced) then white comedians can definately pull it off. they basically could be greater clever approximately it.

Because they know how to present the joke. Plus, they make fun of everyone, even themselves. It's funny when its said in a comical manner, it loses its laugh when people are malicious. Race is a joke in and of itself, why not laugh about it...

1. People are stupid
2. They're funny because their jokes are designed to tear down racial stereotyping.....it's not the same as some guy telling a "what do you call 50 *******'s hanging from a tree" joke....

Both have addressed this, they arn't discriminating against any single group of people, they discriminate against all people, they arn't leaving anyone out, including themselves. They are removing the political correctness (which is overdone) and saying things how they see them and see the humor in them.

And so!
I never heard of them. Did they get you upset?
Why did you listen? I hit the remote at the sound of bart simpson. I wish I could sue, wasting my TV time, with trash.

Because, if you REALLY listen to what they are joking about, they are providing social commentary on our cultural differences, INCLUDING their own.
