to me it feels like Kwanzaa was something that needed to happen, after slavery, black people were really struggling to understand their identity & place in society, its not surprising that they would want a cultural holiday all their own, & separate from the holidays of the peopel that dispised them. the intention for started kwanzaa was a good one. years later the people who started kwanzaa opened up more, and said they didn't want teh celbration of kwanzaa to get in the way of anyone celebrating christmas too. & i think that was a good thing too. im not sure if kwanzaa is as important to people as it once was, but i see it as a celebration of culture, and i dont find it insulting at all. u really have to see peoples intentions when they do soemthing ♥
