To me, there's no minus of having a baby. My kids are too precious. All of those 'minuses' are just the consequences of having a baby. But as they grow older, I can relax more.

I am a single mom to a 19 month old son. He was an unexpected surprise late in my life. I was also never a "baby" person before. I just couldn't understand all of the fuss quite honestly about them. I also couldn't understand parents wanting to show me thier kids pictures.
Now, I can honestly say, I have been completely humbled. The things that have changed:
Taking roadtrips at the spur of a moment.
Being able to go to a movie.
Having money for manicures, extra clothes, and stuff.
Going to fancy dinners.
Sleeping in late.
Being able to hold on to my sick days at work an not use them for when my son is sick.
Resting when I am sick or physically exhausted.
Etc.....
However, all of that said, I would not trade him for anything in the world. In fact, the thought of ever losing him is the worst possible fear I've ever known. he has shown me the only tru meaning of love I've felt in my entire life. He loves me purely and without condition. To see his face light up when I enter the room and his little feet run toward me with his arms wide, well, that is worth giving up all of the luxuries I could ever imagine. We don't have a lot financially, but we do have the most love any two people could ever share.
Now, humbly, I am the parent who beams at sharing pictures of her son. He is my light, my world and my joy all consumed in one little footy pajama package.
If I had the chance to change anything, I'd have to say a big NO. Hope if you are contemplating it, you will say YES to the best possbile thing that could ever happen to you.

This is a big question and you should think about it seriously. Having a baby is forever and it is a life changing experience. You should not do it unless you are willing to devote the next 18 years of your life to daily care of a child. That means - no more going off by yourself to do anything anymore. It means - you have to earn money to feed someone besides yourself for years and years. But, it is also the most important and rewarding thing you will ever do in your life. 100 years from now - all of us will be forgotten - but our legacy will live on through our children's children's children. Good luck!

Being a parent is the most rewarding and challenging thing any human can undertake. Being 100% sure is a necessity before trying to have a child.
The plusses are too much to count.
I don't think there is a minus because if you're truly ready you wont miss the hanging out in clubs or other things you did before. Everyone has their own opinion though.

I would not change a thing. My kids are the love of my life and I can not imagine my life without them. Pregnancy was very hard for me, I was hospitalized several times for dehydration because I was throwing up at least once a day, my blood pressure was on the high side and that caused concerns, but I would do it all agin just to have my babies. :-)

The only thing about having a baby is you have to grow up and you cannot get in trouble. i guess for me that is a plus. my little girl is the best thing that ever happened to me. The 45 pounds i gained wasnt really a minus, because ive already lost it all. but other than that, it is the most wonderful thing.

Pluses, having bigger boobs, people having sympthay for you, eating when you want to, knowing you have a life growing inside you.
Minuses, tired, cranky, feeling fat, not breathing great, restless nights, sore nipples, feeling like a balloon, peeing all the time in the last trimester.
Would I do it again? This is my 4th time around and it is great knowing you are teaching a new life to grow and be independent. Just wanting them to sleep through the night is the first task. ha ha.
Good luck.

My little guy is about to turn 1 and we love him to bits. I wouldn't change a thing because then we wouldn't have our sweet little boy.
Having him has changed absolutely everything. But we love him so much. He took his first run around the church on Christmas Eve, he learned to open up presents, and he's figuring things out every day. It isn't easy, but it's worth it for us.
