Right on!! I helped my Sister and Bestfriend put together my baby shower!! There is NOTHING wrong with that.

I'm due in June and I'm not finding out what the sex is. We already made our invitations for the baby shower I and my sister scheduled in March.

I just put them in Pastel Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple and Pink.
My sister just noted : Unisex colors please Parents want a surprise indeed.

It doesn't have to be fancy. Just creative.

Good Luck and Congrats..

First it is considered tacky to throw yourself a shower. Ask a close friend to do it.

Secondly, you do not have to indicate the sex of the baby on the invite. if the invite is in a neutral color (yellow, green, etc.) it is clear the sex is unknown.

Fortheparty.com has cheap supplies. I also suggest going to Party City. many times you can get last year's styles cheaper in the discontinued section. You can also get plain colored plates and napkins to cut costs.

Not sure about the prices for plates and napkins. For your invites, try something like: A baby shower for our new bundle of joy. We are all awaiting to pick out the name, so along with our choices we are neutral in nursery colors.
Or something like neutral picutres on the front of the invite like Our announcement: It's a baby!!

Just put sex unknown yet on the invitations.
Check out Party City for great deals!

Here's an idea.....at the bottom of the invitation put this little poem.

"Boyish in Blue? Precious in Pink? We don't know 'cause she didn't peek?"

I always think a simple poem is a nice way to let people know you don't know the sex....without making too big a deal out of it!!

Congratulations and Have Fun!!!

do not refer to the baby as a boy or girl. we are proud to announce we are having a new addition to the family, our new bundle of joy, our sweet angel any of which will work. and then there is partysupply.com they have some kool stuff.

Tell them if they're going to purchase clothing to buy unisex wear for the baby.
