so, so, so much in agreement with "In the Beginning"'s post. If you're looking to purchase one of these, you're probably looking to purchase something that looks like a wolf and acts like a dog - which is extremely rare, seeing as the more wolf genes present, the more likely the animal will look (and act) like a wolf. And seeing especially that you're not just looking to purchase a hybrid, that you want a pure wolf...my God! I hope you're got a huge territory and a very well-paid lawyer, not to mention that owning a wild animal is illegal in many states. there is so much more to a pet than its looks. don't go out and buy a wolf-hybrid just because "oh look, i'm a big manly man/in touch with nature/some other bull and i went and got a cool half-wolf dog!" there's absolutely nothing that a wolf hybrid has over something like a malamute or a husky in terms of pet traits - sociability, trainability, etc. it's just pure ego to assume that you'll be able to deal with it because your cousin has a mean pitbull and it likes you - this is another animal entirely. and if you're not getting this animal as a pet, what are you getting it for? you can't use it as a hunter, because it'll tear up whatever animal you're hunting (and it's likely to run off). you can't keep it as a guard dog because it's just as likely to tear up your home as guard it. the only thing you could possibly do with such an animal is to fight it, and that's completely inhumane. so instead of stroking your enormous, misguided ego, go get yourself a nice husky or something.
