i HAD my computer over clocked by changing the FSB.now my Ethernet card isn't working could having the PCI speed raised caused that?

the pci speed was also raised by about 15mhz

It could, although I don't think FSB speed is coupled to the PCI bus speed. I believe the PCI bus always runs at 100mhz. When you overclocked, it may cause the messages sent along PCI to get dropped and ignored on cycles where the FSB and PCI don't match.

For example, a 400mhz FSB will allow the PCI bus through once every 4 cycles, overclocking to say 533 may cause it to miss some cycles.

I don't recomend overclocking, buy yourself a nice processor with lots of cache memory (like a P4).
