In a way I think it is because of the storylines and how long a match is going to last. But it can also be real because if you fall off a ladder onto a floor it hurts even if it is padded and if someone picks you up and drops you to the mat on your back it's going to hurt.
Yes, wrestling is fake - all matches are scripted months before hand by people they call "bookers." They decide who wins the match and who is the face (good guy) and Hell (bad guy). When wrestlers bleed they do it by blading themselves (cutting themselves with a small razor blade). It has also been known for wrestlers to take aspirin before a match to thin the blood therefore giving the effect of a bigger wound. Though wrestling is fake I still enjoy it i dont thinkits such a big deal really i meen all movies are fake nobody denies that so why should anyone have a problem with wrestling being fake. trust me if it wasnt we would just have guys with broken necks and arms.

FFS, wrestling isn't fake, it's scripted. So many people get the two confused. Nothings fake about it except the outcome. (Though there have been instances of wrestlers breaking kayfabe)
They do the moves as carefully and professionally as possible to limit risk of injury or death. They also hit as lightly as possible. (You can see them miss a lot of time if you watch close enough. ) If you really did fight like that you'd most likely have a very short life span or be a paraplegic.
Of course there are always exceptions of when things are fake or not.

I watched a documentary on wrestling. For the most part it is fake. They are really fighting but they know what is going to happen. Most wrestlers are acrobats. Under the ring is a huge spring so when you are body slammed on it your weight is spread out evenly so you do not get hurt. The blood you see is real blood from the wrestler but the cut was made earlier in a crease in the head or a wrinkle. Then is is closed off with super glue and one smack or punch in the right spot ou make it bleed.

alot of the stuff in wwe is in fact fake. the wrestlers perform moves as carefully as possible to ensure the other wrestlers safety. moves that are not as safe as others have been banned by the wwe, like top rope moves and the piledriver. injuries are fake half the time and real other times. Rey mysterios knee injury is real. a example of a fake injury was back in 2004. John cena was stabbed by carlitos friend Jesus, thats what the wwe told us when in fact he was going to film the marine. the storylines and outcome of matches are determined by the wwe creative team and vince mcmahon.

They are athletes, so that part is real along with the hitting with chairs and falling on tables. The outcome is fake and everything is telegraphed on the spot. Sometimes things can go wrong and people have died or were seriously injured.

the whole thing is fake alot of noise and stooping on the canvas to make it sound real but it isnt and once in a while one of them will get hit for real but that is about the just of it
