I ask myself the same question every day.
Why is it anyones business what a woman does with her body? Does it seriously effect you and your daily life? Should a woman have a baby that she cant support or doesnt want just to make everyone else in the world happy?? There are far more important things in this world that people should be worrying over rather than trying to make a woman feel badly for something she knows is right for her and her life.

There are a lot of things that are legal that are just so immoral and wrong. Abortion is nothing less than murder! No matter how you justify it, abortion is killing an innocent life. That unborn child did not ask to be conceived but the mother wasn't thinking about consequence at the time of conception. If more people would wait until marriage this wouldn't be such a big issue. I don't think it is anyones RIGHT to kill an innocent being! That said, let me add that in certain cases such as life and death situations, and rape that this should be an option. But, there is always adoption if the situation isn't life threatning. Please give the unborn children a chance to live you never know how they might better the world one day. God Bless.

Why can't you accept the fact that many people choose to call an unborn baby a BABY, not a fetus, regardless of what gestational age the BABY is?
So, since I believe that if it's in my uterus and has the dna of a homosapien, it's a BABY, a tiny human. This is why I can't accept the fact that abortion is legal.

First of all, nobody has the right to judge other people`s actions, howewer wrong those might seem. After all, that is what the Catholic church teaches us.Strict catholics are the loudest when it comes to abortion, that is true, i know. There are many reasons that make a woman decide to have an abortion,e.g. if a mother doesn`t abort her child she will die and he will live and if she aborts it,she will live. Many people say she should abort, bacuse she could have more children in the future.Others say, life is precious and in this particular case mother`s death would be natural and child`s death would be a murder, i share that opinion. But, anyway, that is only my opinion, everybody has a right to have a different opinion and we should be able to accept each other`s opinions, right? So,if a woman wants to have an abortion,ok, but she should think well about it before doing anything, because she might regret it later in life.
Abortion is legal in most of countries, and i think it is better that it is legal, because if it is legal women can do it in a hospital and a doctor does it.If it wasn`t legal, women would be forced to do it in all kinds of sheds and in poor conditions, and might lose fertility due to i dont know what ilness they might catch there.
If you already haven`t, watch "The silent scream", you have to have a good stomach, but it is worth it.

Remember, slavery once was legal in this country, too. Did that make it right?
"Fetus" is simply a Latin word which means "little one." It describes the baby's age and development, just like "infant," "toddler," and "adolescent." At just three weeks after conception, the baby's heart is already beating. By six weeks, she has little fingers and recordable brain waves. By eight weeks, she can suck her thumb and feel pain. By nine weeks, she can grasp an object placed in her palm. The average age of an aborted baby in this country is ten weeks.
It's not anyone's "right" to kill another innocent human being. If you don't believe abortion kills babies, you need to see this:

What gets me is the fact that people will have sex knowing the consequences and are so shocked they got pregnant that they are willing to kill an innocent baby that is of their own blood. People are so self centered that they can justify killing an infant. It's hard for me to believe that you don't see anything wrong with killing an infant just because it's legal. You know, it's legal for me to drink but I choose not to. It's legal for me to jump of a bridge but I choose not to. Heck, I could quit my job, go on welfare and never work again, but I choose not to. I make my decisions and I have to live with them. And personally I couldn't live with killing an infant because I was selfish, but that's me. How many women do you know who have had multiple abortions? Sadly I know of a few and I can't see how they can live with themselves by sleeping around and aborting. People need to start taking responsiblity for their actions!!! Your arguement of it not being murder is ludicris, another justifacation. What does a fetus become......an infant. A fetus is alive period, so by aborting you are murdering a living thing no matter how you want to look at it.

Just reading some of the answers and had a laugh at the one calling people sluts and not being able to deal with the consequences of not keeping the legs closed and knees together.... Ummm... you can still have sex with legs closed and knees together. (Sorry, just being a smart ***)
I used to be pro-life, just couldn't understand why anyone would kill and innocent being. But... after my husband and I went through a really big scare... abortion was one of our options we were considering. Although we were married, we didn't feel our relationship was ready for something that big. We didn't think we could give a baby the life we knew it deserved. Although, I'm not sure we would have went through with it if it did happen. After that expeience, I began to understand why people do get abortions. There's enough babies/children in the states in orphanages needing homes, why add to it? And I also believe that that is a decision that is between that person and God. Who am I to pass judgement?
Now.... when people use abortion as birth control... that pisses me off. If you can pay for an abortion... go get yourself a birth control prescription, use a condom or any of the other plentiful contraceptions available.

It's clearly not that simple an issue in the eyes of many Americans.
It was also once the case that "slavery is legal and it is the plantation owner's right to have one." And arguably it doesn't affect me if my neighbor has an abortion, or a slave, I suppose.
Laws that don't conform to the popular will tend to fall, eventually.
I have posted on this in detail elsewhere. My views tend to draw disagreement from all sides of the spectrum . . .

Why can't you accept the fact that I have a legal right to believe that abortion is immoral?
I had an abortion 23 years ago. It was the most difficult thing in my life to get over. I believe that women have the right to know that abortion is both physically and emotionally damaging.
I have a right to my opinion and the right to voice it. Those of us who are in agreement have a right to get laws passed if we can. You have these rights also.
I don't have a problem with you. I just have a legal right to my opinion that is not exclusive of your rights.

It is legal and it is a woman's right. Can't argue there. But it is a baby whether you want it or not, and you can't argue there. You can put a socially acceptable "woman's right" title on it and celebrate it but that doesn't change the truth. I think a woman has every right to decide whether or not she wants to have sex or whether or not to use protection. Seems like us woman already have a lot of rights to make reproductive choices. I don't know how mothers can be pro-choice....are only your children important enough to save??? When you felt their first movements did you think, "man this "mass of cells" sure is special???" The reality is that you do have a right to abort your baby, how proud you must be.

Whatever you call it, it's still a MURDER. Why do you think you have the right over your body? You didn't create your body. And if you think you have all your right to do anything to your body, then think TWICE that what you do to your unborn baby, it is done to him/her, which is NOT your body! Justify your theory and actions as much as you want, it's still a MURDER! I'm really disgusted with people who can agree with abortion, unless it really has to, out of medical reasons!
