Technically hammer throwing does involve a ball - it's just that it's on the end of a chain!
All those people who are saying 'hockey', 'cricket' or 'golf' - I'd love to see them play those without a ball!
I would guess:
Discus, badminton, angling, ice hockey and, erm ... trapeze?! :)
