Is this a bad thing to do? Have you ever hooked up wireless only to discover everyone around you has a connection that you could borrow?

It is not illegal as long as you both agree. Next, most people do not have the knowledge to get into your computer, but the guy who does know this can be very dangerous. To learn how to do this all you have to do is conduct a simple web search and the info is there. They will be able to see anything that is in your shared folders so I would suggest you password protect the shared folders. Finally, DSL is so cheap these days I just don't know why you would want to take this risk. Finally, my guess is that you do not have your router password protected and they are getting on already without your knowledge. Get out the user guide and set up the security.

No. Dragon has a wireless router at home, but it is all secured. Dragon has wireless at work and it is all secured. No one borrowing, Dragon is not borrowing either.

I don't, but a friend of mine does. He can hook into someone else's connection at home on his lap top....lol, he doesn't seem to think he'll get caught, but I think I'd be too paranoid
