We did genetic counseling when we had our amnio done. I'm not sure what you're specifically looking for though. The counseling was the easy part (no needles) and all they did was ask a zillion questions about both parent's medical and ethnic backgrounds (some groups have higher risks of certain conditions) and then made a decision regarding what to specifically test for.

For example, we were worried about Down's Syndrome because of my age and we were worried about Cystic Fibrosis because my husband's nephew has it. They were able to specifically check those genes when doing the amnio. Hope this answered your question.
