It might be too soon... but... not saying it's ok because its never ok to drink when your pregnant.... but it would be too soon to affect the baby... Nothing is passed to the baby untill about 10weeks after conception... I was worried about it when i got pregnant with my third (I am 38wks now) because I got drunk a few times before i found out i was pregnant which i was 12 wks when i found out and the midwife told me if it was before 10 wks it wouldnt affect my baby.. but thats just what she told me.

If you are trying to get pregnant, or if you are having unprotected sex, or if there is any chance you are pregnant, you shouldn't be drinking at all, since there is always the chance. Just have sparkling apple cider instead!
You should also already be taking prenatal vitamins to prevent birth defects. The best time to stop drinking, stop smoking, quit caffiene, and start taking prenatal vitamins is 3 months before you start trying to conceive. But the next best time is right now. Good luck!
PS Pregnancy tests aren't very accurate until you've missed your period by three days. Even then, you should be sure to buy an "early" pregnancy test, such as First Response.

There are some pregnancy tests that will indicate if you are preggers or not before your missed period. But you will be cutting it kind of close if you conceived on Dec 17. It may indicate negative even if you are pregnant.
Better play it safe and abstain from alcohol at the New Years party.
Happy New Year, and I hope you are pregnant if you want to be!

The soonest you can tell is 5 days before your missed period. The normal period is every 28 days so after 23 days you should be able to take a test therefore it's too soon to tell. But i wouldn't drink because even one drink can cause fetal alcohol syndrome in a baby once it's born.

I tested positive at 11 days after ovulation, so it's possible! However, you may actually be pregnant but not test positive, depending on the sensitivity of the pregnancy test you use. I would personally keep drinking to a minimum (1-2 drinks), but having a few alcoholic beverages this early on is NOT going to cause fetal alcohol syndrome. The fertilized egg isn't even connected to your bloodstream at this point.

It's too soon, you may get a false reading.Happened to me once when I took the test 2 weeks later I conceived.I waited 2 weeks more and had a positive reading. Two glasses of wine won't hurt. Mother of 4.

It might be too soon - they usually have you wait until you are late. So, it depends on your mense. You can always take the test - and if you are really worried about it - don't drink anything but one or two glasses of wine.
GOOD LUCK!

I don't have any ideal of why females think that they know the exact date of when they concieved (or when the baby was made). The doctor's only predict. It can take up to two weeks for the sperm to even make the baby so we really don't know when our date of conception may be. The only thing that we know is the date that we had sex.

i suggest not drinking on new year's because you may not show up as being preg. unitl a month after you concieve. a preg. test usually works only after you have missed your period.
