I am really torn ... but if I had to choose one place, it would be in the greater Los Angeles area. Great weather, culture, a million activities, access to hundreds of other cities from the airport there.

However, The SF Bay Area, NYC and Honolulu would be VERY close runners-up.

Carmel by the sea, California. It's darn beautiful, full of intelligent people, close to SF, no hurricanes, minimal earthquake damage, clean, safe, but pretty expensive.

Miami because of it's great beaches, mix of diffent cultures, great art distric, fabulous foods, and it's a wonderful party scene.
