and I'm sick of it. How do I become unsheltered?

I've lived in the same area for my whole life. I don't get out and do anything. My only vacations have been to the typical touristy areas like Orlando, Myrtle Beach and NC.

Volunteer to help at a hospital. You'll meet interesting people, and get the occasional adrenaline rush during crises.

If you truly want to see the world, go on humanitarian trips. You will be helping people get food and medical supplies, while seeing corners of the world not frequented by tourists.

There are such trips to Guatemala, Somalia, Cuba, Nigeria, Southeast Asia and others. Contact the Salvation Army for direction if this really interests you.

Take it one step at a time. Join some clubs that are adventurous: skiing, ski-diving, parasailing, bungee jumping, or whatever you are interested in. Take up ballroom dancing or public speaking. Don't be afraid to talk to people. Take an adventurous trip and go on a cruise or take a helicopter ride. Just do it.

Go and travel more. London is a very good place for a first trip overseas. Its easy to get to, not super expensive and full of interesting things to see.

Also, try volunteering. Its a great way to give back to your community and meet really interesting people. Join a book club, its a great way to make new friends and discover interesting things.

If you are underage, just wait 'til you grow up so you can do what you want. If you are already an adult, just make changes. If you find yourself still living a sheltered life, then maybe that IS you. Nothing wrong with that, be happy with who you are.
