I imagine the notion started because it is actually possible to be "scared to death". And I suppose if you got scared enough by a dream, you could conceivably have a heart attack and die. However, that scenario is VERY unlikely. And the reason I know this, is because I died in a dream once. No, I didn't fall. I was stabbed. Everything went slowly black and then I woke up - sweating and shaking, but very much alive. I chalked it up to way too much TV. LOL

I've never actually hit the ground. Before I've even got, like, 6 feet down, I make myself wake up (the cliff was VERY VERY VERY high up and the scenery was making me height sick!). So, no, but I don't really want to, so that works out.

Well I've experienced falling off a building many times. I hear it's really common actually. You're in between being awake and being asleep and then you feel that you're falling, and you suddenly jerk yourself awake. I'm not sure why, though.

wow that freaks me out haha well i dont think it would actually happen unless in your dream you're walking off a cliff or something and you're actually physically sleepwalking in real life. if you do that, and you sleepwalk yourself off the stairs or something, you might get hurt, but i dont think you'll just die if you dont wake up right before "hitting the ground" if you're not physically walking around the house or sleepwalking. hope this helped!

Same happened to me. I never hit the ground either, even if it isn't really a deadly height. Not that it means anything.

that is just a myth. being hit, or hurt by any object in your dreams does not hurt you physically. The only dream to physical experince you will ever have is dreaming about somethings frightning and waking up sweaty.

I don't think it would kill you if you were dreaming, but if you were astral projecting then that might be a very diffrent story.................
