Why did you let your checking account be overdrafted? You shouldn't write checks if you lack sufficient funds to have those checks clear. Sorry, but you reap what you sow. Deal with it until you wise up about being financially responsible.

You'll have to pay them off by money order or cash. They may or may not reopen your account, if they reopen the account, it'll be a different account number, each bank is different. However, if your account is just "frozen", then it can be reopened. But once an account is closed, you can't ever open it under the same account number again.

You will have to go to the bank in person or send them a money order. They do have the right not to reopen your account, you will still want to pay them what you owe them or you will be reported to Chexsystems and other banks will know that you owe money and will not open an account for you either.

You will have to go to the bank to make good on the charge-off. Then it will be the banks discreation to open a new account for you. Most of the time they won't because if they closed you due to a negative balance then it is considered account abuse and was reported to Chexsystem. You should open a savings to get yourself back on track. Good luck

I think you would have to ask the bank, banks tend to have individual policies regarding certain matters.
