If you become a psychiatrist (4 years undergrad, 3 years med school, and 2 years residency) you could counsel them and prescribe needed medicines.

If you become a Ph.D. clinical psychologist (4 years undergrad and 4 to 6 years grad) you can work independently and counsel them.

If you become a M.S. or M.A. clinical psychologist or clinical social worker, you can counsel them under the supervision of a Ph.D. psychologist or a psychiatrist. Psychologists emphasize the interior life of the client. Social workers emphasize the social environment in which their clients live.

If you become a public health nurse (4 years undergrad and 2 years grad) you could work with groups of people to help them, such as non-pregnant teens in a school system to help them stay non-pregnant or prego teens in a group home to help them cope.

A Masters in clinical social work plus a Masters in public health nursing would be a particularly good combination. The University of North Carolina has a very well regarded public health nursing program in its School of Public Health.
