With a reasonable adult, I don't see it necessary to lie. There is a difference between brutal honesty and answering truthfully and gently.

Lying is bad but even in bible the prostitute woman had to lie to save the lives of two men of god in dangerous city. So, Yes sometimes it's necessary to lie especially to save someone's life or to prevent to hurt somebody because sometimes the truth hurts and can be hard to handle.

Yes....for instance....someone has a new shirt on they absoultely adore and say "Do you like it?", and you really don't...if they like it that much just say you do so you don't hurt thier feelings. But only in small silly situations like that. Now, if you see your friends mate cheating on them and they ask you if you know anything, then you should tell the truth on the big stuff.

I personally think, that to an extent, it might be.
In situations were you end up doing others good is a good example.

yes~especially if it involves a familly. For example, when you cheat with someone that is married and the one he's married to is your boyfriends cousin.
