What? It is probably even more important that you bathe when you are on your period.

I don't know who you've been talking to, but you need to find new friends. It is fine to take a shower on your period and actually it can make you feel better b/c the water temporarily stops the blood flow. Showers have also always made my cramps feel better. I have been taking showers with my period since i was 13 and i am now 25 and i am skinny.

That doesn't even make any sense.

You should definitely shower when you have your period. It is important to keep up your hygiene, especially during this time.

It does not hurt, and you won't get fatter. They probably mean that you'll retain water and get bloated. That will happen anyway, and not by much. The only thing avoiding the shower will do is make you smell bad.

Okay, whoever told you that LIED. it's very important to keep your body clean and fresh while you are on your cycle. Because of the odor from bleeding, you need to wash your body thoroughly more times than usual. Take Showers not Baths! You wouldn't want to sit in dirty water, there would be no point in bathing. For cramps, buy disposable heating pads and take midol for cramping!

They were pulling your leg.

Its ok to take a shower and a bath when on your period.

As for those who say about blood being in the tubwater, you don't know much about having your period. You won't see blood in your bathwater. I know because I've taken long bubble baths while on my period (no, no tampons were used either) and saw NO blood in the bathwater.

Of course its okay. Why wouldnt it be? You need to keep clean. Your period will stop in water. Do not go without showering, its not healthy.

NO, that's not true. Showers are better, honestly would you want to sit in the tub of water you are bleeding in? Yuck! The tub would also be the one you would retain water with, in the shower you are standing up and the water can't go inside you.
