Does PS3 Blue ray disc games will only work if I have HDTV with 1080p resolution?

They work on other TVs, just without the HD resolution.

Yes the PS3 comes with standard A/V cables (yellow, red and white plugs) for hooking up to most T/V's. There is also a setting where you can change the output from either 480p (SDTV) to 1080p(HDTV). Sadly there is not the option of 720p/1080i which is what most HDTV's are using right now. In order to get HD picture out of the PS3 you will need to purchase a componet cable or preferably a HDMI cable.
