what would be a good not too epencive co2 system for a 15 gallon aquarium im setting up? im currently using the home made yeast system but looking for a more automated one. any suggestions?

Well, unless you want to get a pressurized CO2 canister, you're best off just going with the yeast and sugar.
DIY yeast/sugar is quite adequate for up to 40 gallons; getting a pressurized system for a 15 gallon is unnecessary and very expensive.

I don't know your current CO2 system, but it should be pretty easy to maintain. I use a 2 litre coke bottle, empty and rinsed. Drill a hole in the cap the width of air tubing, stick the tube into the hole about 1" into the bottle and seal it with 100% rubber silicone.
In the bottle, put 1 1/2 cup suger and 1.5L of warm water - stir until disolved, then add 3/4 tsp of baking yeast, give it a little swirl, and close the bottle.

I use a water pump to break apart the bubbles, or you can attach the airline to an air stone.

That should be good for 1-2 months.
