Why do you want to become a pharmacy technician? I think you should answer that question first... is it money? Is it because someone you admire is one? Is it cuz mom and dad are MAKING you choose that career? I think, if this is really a career you want to pursue, maybe you should visit your local pharmacy and ask a few questions of the techs there... maybe get permission to "shadow" them for a few days to see if it is indeed what you really want to do with your life. If it is truly a SERIOUS desire of yours, you will find a way to improve your science and math skills. I would suggest you go to your local high school counselor and take a COPS or COPES test or some other work-skill aptitude test that allows you to see what sort of career fits your personality and skills.

When all of that is said and done... I will tell you that you will probably change your college major at least two or three times before you reach your junior year of college. Your freshmen and sophomore years should be spent getting your general eds out of the way... pursue your career/major specific courses the last two or three years of college. You might want to start out in a Junior College (city college) for two years to get the preliminary classes out of the way at a MUCH reduced cost!!!

Good luck with your pursuit of career fulfillment. Do what makes you feel as though you have a purpose in life... don't do it JUST for money... don't do it cuz mommy wants it for you.... do it because you are passionate about the field of study you have chosen... it will make earning that money a whole lot better!! I promise!!!

Being a pharmacist is a tricky job and takes a incredibly some years of education. I worked in CVS Pharmacy and that they'll unquestionably practice you over the years and could pay which you will get your certification attempt for pharmacy technician as quickly as. So my suggestion is commence with working in a pharmacy and then in case you pick for to artwork in direction of starting to be to be a tech or a pharmacist you will see what its extremely like and benefit preparation in the approach. Pharmacists artwork long hours and its very stressful.

IF you are a very good student other than math, then you could consider physical therapy, or how about Social work? but being anything in pharmacy if you are not good in math would be a really bad idea. You have to make up all kinds of solutions and mixtures and calculate the percentages and proportions. One mistake could kill someone. Please don't get involved in pharmacy!

Get a math tutor. Do a LOT of math problems. If you try hard enough you will get the hang of it, and you will probably wind up using a calculator on the job anyway, although you still need to know what to do to get the calculations correct. Follow your dream, conquer your fears.

if you are bad at math/science...you will have to work extra hard. these fields are very serious and they want people who are PROFICIENT AT IT. because after all....you work with things that involve people's lives.

if you aren't great at it....then maybe try something else you are good at. thats something you will have to face.

take some career tests. interest, personality tests. go to a guidance counselor. if you really want to be this, then go for it. but you will have to work extra hard.
