My friend came over to use my computer, he has a MAC. When I told him to push the button on the hard drive (proper term is the tower) he acted really confused. Do MAC's not have towers? Do they not have hard drives?

Hi whisper,

Yes, Macintosh computers have hard drives. The problem lies in the power buttons, they seem to be located at different places on different computer. There are some older Macs that had power buttons way in the back. There are also power buttons on the keyboard and on the front of the main part of the computer. I've noticed that some PCs have multiple buttons on the main processor unit and if yours is like that, it may have confused him. Maybe he had to search around for it on yours.

Okay you are confusing your terms here. The hard drive is a storage device and has no buttons. And yes, almost every computer in use today has one. You really should investigate my site below under computer talk, and look at the Identifying your computers parts, so that you can better explain what you are talking about. As for power buttons on the case, Yup they all have those too. However, some of the older ones are located on the power supply at the rear of the case instead of on the front like yours is. Hope this helps

All computers have a tower (with the exception of notebooks, they are all encased together). The hard drive is inside of the tower. MAC's are no different than a PC.
