I agree, they have a right to try and find alternative sources of energy. Unfortunately we can't be totally sure they will continue to be peaceful and atomic energy is such a powerful and still relatively unknown device that it could cause the undoing of us all. Based on past behaviour and their reluctance to sign any treaties how can we be convinced their motives are peaceful?

The real question is why. Since they have much cheaper energy in the form of oil (MUCH cheaper), then why such an adamant approach to procurement of atomic energy, if not for weapons production.

Agreed. And if their nuclear energy program is indeed peaceful, then they should have no problem with regular inspections.

It would also be kinda nice if they stopped threatening to turn Israel into a radioactive hole. I'm just sayin'....

How can you use Iranian and peaceful together?
If they were peaceful no one would have a problem. They are part of the islamic terrorists that kill innocent people in the name of the satan allah. They play insanity against peace to their financial gain.

not when it is coupled with threats of genocide of any nation. which also includes threats of using this against the people united states of america.

but i am sure you would not mind your community, with your family to be included in ground zero. if the tin man had, only a brain to figure this out. you know, as if the iranians who are supporting the insurgency in iraq to kill americian soldiers is not enough. duuuuuhhh!!!
