Many places are not selling the Nintendo Wii game systems online during the initial sales period (probably until at least 2007), but instead reserving many of their stocks for their Brick and Mortar stores. Much of the online sales were pre-order sales months ago, and many of those sold out of their original allocations quickly.

I purchased a Wii on Thanksgiving weekend the old-fashioned way, I went to a store. I was scanning the local newspaper, and saw an advertisement that a store would have at least 30 Wiis in stock, limit one per person. I stood in line, and was a lucky recipient of one of 75 they ultimately had in stock.

Unfortunately, most of the people selling Wiis online are people out looking for a buck, thinking that they will be able to sell it to someone who does not want to wait. A little bit of patience, and some diligence on your part will ensure you can find one in your local metropolitan area for the MSRP. If you don't have access to a paper, many places (Toys-R-Us, Best Buy, Circuit City, K-Mart, Wal-Mart) provide the sales ad for the upcoming week online.

As an aside, I've found hit-or-miss luck at Amazon for the game remotes and nunchucks. A few weeks ago, Amazon had the game remotes in for MSRP, and they sold out rather quickly. Just yesterday, Amazon had the Nunchucks for $19, rather than double/triple the price (which is what some people are asking for them). You just have to keep searching for them, and if it's in stock, get it in your shopping cart ASAP!

The absolute best way is to call your local stores (Target, Best Buy, Wal-mart, etc) and ask when they get shipments in. Just go in early the day they have them, and you should be fine. Also, I know GameStop will soon be selling Wii bundles in their store and they claim they'll have a lot in stock around the middle of the month. Unfortunately, outside of ebay or Criagslist, online is just not a good place to find a Wii.

Try the craigslist. List it in the wanted section. After the readers stop rolling on the floor laughing one might actually want to sell you one at that price.

No where, most likely. Sorry. Unless you have a really nice neighbor who is willing to give you theirs for that much.
