Why would they fight someone of there own party?

That's really kind of a silly question, because Hitler was about as Right-wing as you can get, and right-of center Americans continually call people left-of-center 'liberals'. A better question would be whether people right-of-center would want to fight to defeat him.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Harry Truman were the two presidents when Hitler needed fighting, and both presided over American troops doing just that. I'll let you check to see which Party they belonged to! LOL

They are fighting to defeat Bush who is a modern day Hitler! So the answer is yes they would.

Joe Kennedy Sr. wanted to appease Hitler. FDR forced him to resign as Ambassador to Great Britain. Joe was a notorious anti-semite as well.

Hitler was a member of the far-right, making him much closer to modern-day American conservatives and republicans than to liberals. Would republicans today fight to defend Hitler?

How much common sense does that make? How could anyone appreciate Hitler or the heinous acts he committed?
Though, I have heard that many compare G.W. Bush to Hitler with great passsion. Maybe you are looking to the wrong party to find Hitler a fan club.

I think you people who keep bashing the liberals should keep in mind that in regard to WWII it was the liberal efforts that made the way for the men in this country able to leave their families and travel around the globe to fight.
WOMEN in force took on the effort of Mother and Father many for the first time working outside of their homes to build the tools needed to support the war effort.
To address todays efforts. It is liberal efforts that will bring about health care reform.
It will be liberal efforts that will keep abortion legal. Whether or not you agree with abortion I don't think it is something that the government should be able to legislate. Unless of course any of our government officials are willing to take the baby born to a 15 yr old girl who was impregnated by her father home with them to raise.
It will be liberal efforts that will keep social programs in place to help children who are suffering with parents or a single parent in so many cases who aren't strong enough to deal with the daily pressures of minimum wage jobs that don't pay enough to adequately support them or their families. Children who are born to disfunctional families are our responsibility to help or we will have generation after generation of disfunction.
I don't disagree with everything the conservative believe and I don't agree with everything that liberals believe. There are so many middle ground issues.
Liberal ideas affect many. Conservative thoughts enable only the chosen.

Today's liberals would say Nazi Germany didn't bomb Pearl Harbor, so our invasion of Normandy was completely unjustified. Roosevelt lied and people died.
