I am leaving my company pretty soon without another job lined up. It looks like the best option for me right now to move my money to an IRA account. Which broker offers the lowest cost IRA account? Any ideas?

The cheapest IRA I know of is with Vanguard. There are no broker fees, no 12(b)1 fees and their expenses are the lowest of any mutual fund company around. They are the largest fund house in the country and have hundreds of fund choices.
If you use a broker you will have to pay anywhere from 3% to 6% of your money to them in fees and expenses.

It would be in your best interest to find an IRA that invests in mutual funds with long term track records and strong experience managing the portfolio. Some IRA's have fees of only $10 per year.

I went with Vanguard because I have more than enough in assets to waive the annual maintenance fee for their IRA accounts. Some other brokerages also do the same.

I have a regularly occurring IRA with my economic company, and a Roth IRA with my insurance employer.
