I have a Honda 70 cc motorcycle. It was working fine in summer. But now in winter, it does not kick start. It needs pushing. What can be the possible problems/solutions?

I want to add that once the motorcycle gets started with pushing, it works fine. And if the engine is hot, you can restart it with kick. The problem of no kick start occurs only when the engine is cold.

Here we use motorcycles year around. As winter approched, starting trouble began.

I should give some idea about temperature in winters. It does not go down to freezing. The lowest these days is about 3-4 C (40 F).

You should post what the problem is with kick starting. It's not starting from a kick, the kick is loose, you can't kick (it's too stiff), what?
If it's started with a push but not a kick and the kick's working like it normally does (like you slow kick it until it catches at the top of the cycle), you might check to make sure your start button is flipped on. The only thin the kick does is push the piston up to compress and then the alternator shoots a spark to the plugs which lights it off. That's the same thing pushing it does basically. The difference is that you're rolling the bike and letting out the clutch which equates to the kick. That also pushes the piston up for the alternator to light off (both go through the points/electronic ignition module to module the electricity).

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. All of that info is needed to research your question. The year makes a difference (it will tell if it has points or CDI ignition) and the model # is important (it will tell if it's a 2 or 4 stroke engine).
If it's a 4 stroke engine, check the valve adjustment. If the valves are to tight, the combustion chamber will leak a little on the compression stroke and cause the symptoms you are describing.
"Brian M" got it right. The valve adjustment specs for small size Honda's in the 1970's & 1980's are
intake 0.002"
exhaust 0.003"

When's the last time you adjusted the valve lash? Those have screw and locknut adjusters which all get tighter as you use the motor. That tightness means that the motor doesn't get enough fuel to start from just a kickstarter when cold, but when pushing you're able to get enough fuel in there for it to catch. When hot, the fuel atomizes better and it starts easier.
Pretty simple adjustment on those motors, I don't know the specs (they Should be on a sticker inside one of the side covers), but with those and the basic tools needed, it shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes to set the valve lash correctly.
Good luck with it

Your gasoline might have gotten water in the tank and the fuel line. You could drain the tank and put in new gas.
Check spark plugs.. they might be corroded from just sitting around for 6 months. You just might need a complete tune up.
