I have my laptop setup as wireless (using a Netgear dongle) and my wife's laptop runs of the same wireless router (Netgear) using internal hardwear.

All of this seems a bit pointless because if we want to send stuff down to the printer we have to get the USB cable out.

Is there an inexpensive way to talk to the printer "wirelessly"?

Yes, they make wireless Print server boxes. They are reasonable.
Here's one. There are many others. Some that can be used for Parallel printers too I believe. This one supports up to 4 USB printers

Linksys has a wireless print server for USB and parallel printers. Netgear has the same thing. They are available for about $100 from many computer stores like Best Buy or CompUSA. A link is included below for the Netgear on TigerDirect so you can see its options.

Wireless printer would be cool and all wouldn't it! Setting up a hub to the wireless router and then network the laptops together. So the hub is conected to the router and then hook the cable up to the printer from the hub. I hope this helps some what?

Professionally you will itemize all your expenses on the invoice (gasoline, time, factors, incidentals and so forth). Secondly that's complicated to pin down because of the fact the fee consistent with hard work varies from area to area. I even have charged as low as $40 5.00 consistent with hour and each element of an hour (I paintings a million hour and 10 minutes, I charge for the entire 2 hours) to $one hundred twenty five.00 consistent with hour and any element of an hour. To get an thought of what the going fee to your section is call terrific purchase or your community computer save and ask them as in case you have been the customer. do no longer tell them you're finding for a cost to invoice somebody regardless of the indisputable fact that, act as in case you opt on the paintings accomplished for your self. in no way sell your self short, in no way! tremendously in case you do stable paintings. notice of mouth will make you or smash you as a working laptop or computer representative.

if the printer dosent have wifi then no
but if it is wifi enable lookup an online guide to it
but another way if it has an LAN port, get a ethernet cord and plug one end into your router and one end into the printer and then goto
print...
or ctrl+p
then you'll see a window and below it some buttons, click the one that says find printer and there ya go... good luck

S***! I've been tinkering with my old wireless all afternoon trying to turn it into a printer, but it's the other way around. I'm too old for all this techno nonsense.
