My baby had cradle cap and I didn't think to much of it until I took her to the Doctor for a check-up.. The doc said if you don't take care of it, it will just get worse and get really yellowy and scaly.. she told me to get some dandruff shampoo for adults but I felt like that shampoo was too harsh for the baby so I looked in the baby isle at the pharm. and found a treatment for that. I used the treatment once and the cradle cap went away but a little came back after a month or so...I wasn't washing the babies hair every time I gave her a bath but now I do and the cradle cap is gone.

its not a big deal, you can put baby oil or olive oil on your baby's scalp 15 minutes before you bath him. It got itchy for my baby so i was prescribed medication by the dr. Also pay attention as it may develop in other areas of his body especially flextures. If its not that extreme, it just goes alone. No matter how tempting it might be though, never flake it off or try to scratch it.

the doctor told me to scrub the babys scalp when you wash the babys head. try to only wash tha hair a few times a week. scrubbing the scalp helps alot. my baby had it.. hers went away in a few days. DONT JUST LEAVE IT ALONE!! my doctor told me it will never go away if you just leave it alone. it should clear up in a few days. oh and when your babys hair is dry, take a brush and really brush your babys scalp until a lot of the flakes flake off.

Please just leave it alone. When you bathe your baby and wash his hair, scrub it thoroughly (but gently) and comb it like you normally would. I get so sick and tired of people saying, "Oh, just slather it up with vaseline, baby oil, etc. etc. and it'll go away." Would YOU want to walk around with a nasty, greasy head??

Cradle cap is nothing big--just dead, dry skin that peels off. It's not itchy, infectious, painful, or otherwise uncomfortable for your baby. He doesn't even know he has it. And with regular combings/brushings and hair washings, it'll be gone in no time.

You can use baby oil, which does make them look a little greasy, but it seems to get rid of the flakes. It will clear up on its own. You can also scrub it a little with a wet washcloth to get some of the flakes off.

i have 4 children and never knew this until my baby was born, but using head and shoulders shampoo works great. what i did was bought a trial size bottle and just put a pea size amount on his scalp and rubbed it in. it doesn't work immediately of course, but you will notice a big difference within a few days. my babys cradle cap never came back after just a couple weeks of using it. please just take care not to get it in his eyes as it will burn.

It's nothing to be concerned over. It's only dry skin. Baby oil applied will be very helpful in clearing this up. If your child is a newborn be very gentle on the softspot when applying the oil.

My nephew had really really bad craddle cap when he was a month old. I took him away from my sister for 3 weeks at that time me and my mom used a lot of baby oil, it did nothing b/c it was so bad. So my mom pulled out the bag balm and it worked.

My son had it as well, I put baby oil on his head and just washed it like normal. The pediatrician said you can use dandraff shampoo but I would check with your dr first

my two month old has it right now to. I have read that you can use head and shoulders on it, and it will go away but I am just going to let it go. It will go away on its own eventually. If it really bothers you give your baby a bath and with a wash cloth gently scrub it off. But it does not bother them or anything.
