there is a really good duet called "Will you buy" from Oliver, the only problem is that it is a duet........ but you might be able to do it alright....... What American girl thing are you doing? it sounds interesting..... some songs that i like that you suggested are
Part of your world
My favorite things
the girl i mean to be
and Put on happy face
but just do what sounds best! don't try to sing too long, try and do a song that shows off a variety of your singing skills. don't strain your voice too, if you get a part, you might not be able to end up singing because your voice is dead.......... You might want to sing some songs to your friends and see what they think. make sure that the song you chose is the best it can be for your voice. dont worry if it isnt popular or something like that. Judges might like to hear a song that they grew up listening to, it might show that you really care about this audition and that you are willing to do extra work to get it. Also if you get a song that a lot of other kids will do then the judges wont get as bored with the song and then they wnt compare you to all the other kids that sing it or the artist that sings it. it shows you are more orignal too. get a song that you can sing from your heart. and something that shows your personality. Also you dont want to sound like everyone else, so pick a song that will grab the judges attention.
Good luck and have FUN! make sure that you post it someplace if you got a part, i really hope you do!

Several of the songs you've listed are considered classically overdone songs. You may want to avoid "Part of Your World", "My Favorite Things", and "Good Morning Baltimore" for that reason. Check out this link: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/performance/auditions/overdoneauditionsongs.html
Of the ones you listed, I like "Sun in the Mornin' and the Moon at Night", "A Change In Me", "The Girl I Mean to Be", and "Home". And as "Sun" is the only upbeat one, I would do that; a revue setting is usually mostly upbeat crowd pleasers, so you'll want to show the casting directors that that's something you can do.
Break a leg.

Only you can pick it or a trained professional. But somepointers are to pick a song that you shine at! One that when you sing you can bring out the character you are singing about. One that shows of you're range and musical maturity. One that shows you have no fear and you are 100% comfortable with! Best of luck!@

Just make sure any of those songs are good to your voice. Sometimes the quality of your voice effects the song. You must choose a song that is best fitted for your voice and easy for you to deliberate. Good Luck!

Whats your style if you want to be a little sweetie then go for any of the ones you mentioned along with the rest of the pink little pop tarts that will be auditioning. However if you want a little edge I say "Take another little piece of my heart" by Janis Joplin.

if you sing each of these songs in front of your friends and family and then ask which one sounds better than you should choose the one that most people think.
Good luck with your audition
