nope. it blocks the pores and makes spots worse. But, if she must wear it, exfoliating will help clear pores and she must make sure she takes the foundation off after every use and the end of every day.

Hiya,
Well It Depends What Foundation She Is Using Because Some Foundations Moisturise And Have Anti Spot Pigment In But Others Just Clog Up Pores And Cause Even More Spots, Any Foundation Can Also Cause Spots If It Is Out Of Date...Tell Her To Check The Bottom Or Side Of The Foundation Bottle......Look At The Sort Of Bowl Shaped Symbol And It Should Have Numbers In
E.G 17
This Means That The Foundation Will Stay In Date For 17 Months After Its Been Opened...
Hope I Could Be Of Help, Sorry If Not...Merry Christmas
Gd Luck x :) x

I have experienced this, I used to wear foundation all the time, and i got spots everyday, she shouldnt wear foundation everyday, due to her pores are not having a chance to breath. Basically at the moment her skins is being clogged up everyday, which is not good, skin cannot breath. I stopped wearing foundation and use foundation only when I have spots, I use Benefit Cosmetics foundation playstick which has a an anti bacterial fighting spot agent in. So go for benefit for that sort of thing

It all depends on the foundation she is using. There are many foundations formulated for different types of skin. Since everyone's skin is different, she will need to do a trail and error to find the one right for her. A water-based foundation would probably be the best for her skin. Also remember, just because it's high in price doesn't make it a better product.
I used to be a make-up artist so I know foundation as a whole is NOT bad for the skin. You should be using sunblock everyday (to stop sun damage and fight against skin cancer) and many foundations has it already added.

I sympathise cos i too have very oily skin that makes me break out often and i am 40 years old! I have found that steaming my face at least once a week does help immensely.I get a deep receptacle that can hold very hot boiling water, add a few drops of Superdrugs Peppermint or such essence, place a large cloth, bath towel whatever over my head, position my face over the steaming water and give it just 5 minutes.I exfoliate and wash thoroughly and then to finalise i mix egg white and some lemon drops and slather all over my face for 3-4 minutes, and there you have a squeaky clean face ready for any onslaught. All the best

Foundation is one of the nastiest make up products made, you see so many girls who wear it and they look orange, they always leave line under their chin, No it's not good, tell her to ditch it and try a spot cover up rather than a foundation!!!!!!!!

I don't think make-up helps but most of us get a few spots & some people are more unfortunate to have acne. It can block your pores but it is an evil circle when you are also trying to cover the spots up

A boy I no says she needs to make sure and clean her makeup off carefully when she gets home because the spots can be caused by blocked pores.

You can get foundation formulated for greasy skin which may be good for her skin, or at least not bad, but you shouldn't make her feel self conscious by forcing her if she is not comfortable with it. Just be sensitive!

It doesnt help if it's oil based so get her to buy an oil free one with a light coverage like a tinted moinsturiser. Laura Mercier is the best.
