In the beginning the picture (scenery, costumes, and some characters) was great, until Frodo kept putting the ring on his little, stupid , ignorant finger. Oh yeah and the rest of the stupid hobbit gang. After that, meaning part one, I didn't want to watch it anymore. I wanted to smack the person who made him so ignorant and the person who played the part for making me so angry. After three years passed I decided about a month and a half ago to go ahead and finish watching the rest. So I bought the stupid set for $18 from Target's since I owned 1&2 of Lord of the rings of the Xbox game. The game was great! Anyways, I got angry again and haven't finished part two. If I had a rifle I would blow the disks to pieces. Maybe I should try reading the book since I love reading. Maybe the book will soothe my anger. Frodo was the big turn off.

They're my all time favorite movies. The books were really hard to get through, because it's almost like reading a history book. The Hobbit, which preceeded these books/movies, is a much easier read. Hopefully they will make it into a movie!

One of the great works of literature and movie making....ever.
Tolkein created not just a literary work but a world with it's own languages, customs, history and unique character. Such a feat has not been accomplished in a work of fiction since.

Kinganswer The matrix was okay but really comparing it to LOTR is like comparing Sutter Home to a 1982 Salon Le Mesnil.

I loved the movies. I read the first book and really liked it, but couldn't get into the second book. I would like to try again.

I love the movies. They're my favorite movies of all time. (Followed by Sense and Sensibility.) I read the books once and enjoyed them. I'd like to read them again someday.

Movies were done superbly. Im a personal fan of the two towers out of the three. But love them all equally. Viggo Mortensen is Xtra HOTT.

There aren't two books or two movies, there are THREE books and movies, two are animated movies from the end of 70s.But everything I read about Tolkein amuses me.I have never met someone who knows more about Tolkeins art than me.
