I didnt recieve anything either this year..... and spent a ton on gifts for the whole family (including a bunch of cousins). Im not upset.... but I feel alittle left out ya know....
are u independent and make a decent living? if so, don't be mad..... christmas should be all about "giving"- if u're still upset about it, next year.... make hints that you would like to recieve alittle something or just don't spend much on gifts.

Heck, I spent a lot on Children mostly. The best gift I got was from Yahoo Answers! Ha! But, I gave because I wanted too, not because I wanted in return.

No you should not be mad, BUT:
Some people (like you) feel loved and appreciated by gifts and material, some people feel loved(like me) by quality time.
That's just the way you are. Tell them what you want or ask them for a hug.
My brothers didn't get me anything, they felt bad because I got them an expensive gift they loved. I told one of them(that's the closest to me) that a hug would be nice and the other a Victoria Secret gift card lol.
One of my closest friend felt bad for not giving me anything when I gave her something so I said "Your friendship is more than enough for me".
So Some people have different love languages and by what you said your love language is materials and gifts.

No....you already got the "gift of giving" in your heart. Your gift in return? You made a most honorable gesture, YOU GAVE. I never get much, but my reward is knowing I made someone else happy. Maybe next year,.. make more gifts and spend less $$, so you won't feel so bad, and if you "make" your gifts, it's a bigger piece of you that you give.

Yeah, I quietly get disappointed.
Last year I made Christmas baskets for everyone in my husbands family. They cost about $40 each and I didn't recieve one gift, neither did he, and our children only got a single present. I couldn't believe that all the other children were getting 8-10 presents and my little girls were sitting there quietly.
Actually I feel like crying now.
But anyway, we decided that they weren't worth our time and havn't spoke to them since. ( For other reasons)

I did not get no gifts from no one for the last 10 years, I gone over getting mad, makes it easier for me as I need not to buy any presents except iff I feel generous maybe one for me.
Of course my minor children are out of this equation and the get a gift.

You are still alive......apparently you got the gift of life.....be satisfied with what you DO have, not bitter about what you didn't get. Christmas is a time of giving anyway, right? Not a time of receiving, although most people have forgotten that part.

in my family not one person gets a gift. we all choose a name and make a donation to a charity in that person's name. there are obviously people that need things a lot more than we do. Christmas is about giving and not receiving.
