Wireless router/USB linksys install nightmare.?

Has anyone else had problems installing a wireless router on a Dell notebook? The instructions make it look like childsplay. After talking with a call center person from India for 1 hour on Christmas evening, she finally solved the problem, but all the network settings had to be reconfigured and renamed. Does everyone who purchases a Cisco router go through this?

The network became disabled and needed to be reset each time another USB device was used (printer, i-pod, etc). I finally just gave up - returned the router and range extender, bought extra cable. Theres 150 bucks back in my pocket and by blood pressure's back to normal.
