I'm trying to transfer from my LG VX8100 to my new LG VX8300 cell phone. They both have slots for SD cards but each uses a different format than the other (not that it matters since I can't seem to save files from the 8100 to my existing SD card).

Both phones are equipped with Bluetooth so maybe that's a possibility, but I can't seem to be able to pair either cellphone with my laptop.

And I don't see any USB ports on either phone. The AC adapter plugs for each phone are different in size.

My wireless provider did (for a fee) transfer phone numbers from my old phone to the new phone but wouldn't do the same for audio and video files.

Ideas anyone? Thanks.

If you service provider is Verizon Wireless then you can not use the bluetooth as Verizon limits the bluetooth connectivity on their devices for "security". If you have the data cable (Music Essentials kit) for your 8100 then you should be able to download everything to your PC.
You can also email most files to your 8300 so long as they are under 500k.

Verizon does not support open bluetooth transfer (which is what you'd be wanting to do) If you downloaded them recently then you call cust care (*611) and ask if there are any they can credit you back for if you download them again (usually any you downloaded recently) if you didn't download them then put them on how ever you did it last time. You can also try text messaging them to yourself and you can save any sound you receive in a text as a ringtone. The only other option I know of is there are some places you may be able to find ringtone software that comes with data cables for your phone... I hope that helps.

Now not all bluetooth enabled phones are able of transferring documents, most do though. If you wish to ship an photograph for instance, all you need to do is click on send via bluetooth then the opposite phone's bluetooth will have to be enabled as well to receive the file. It can be the equal factor with ringtones.

Both cell phones are LG. I have 1 sim card. From the old cell phone if send the information to phone memory, then remove sim card and place into the new cell phone, then transfer all the data to sim card.

Take phone one and save all the numbers to the SIM card then remove the SIM card and put it in phone two then save the numbers to the phone memory contact list. SIM card is behind the battery pack.

you can transfer them through bluetooth. you just select the file and hit beam or whatever it's called, select the device you're sending it to, and send it. if you have windows xp, it has NTSF formatting and it also supports FAT32. you could just connect the sd cards to it and copy them over that way (just make sure you DONT hit the format button... or you're screwed...). have le fun!

lol i send music through bluetooth all the time in my math class. it is pretty slow (like 3 - 5 mins per song...), but it's fun to swap files from across the room XD.

Unfortunately if the information that you saved on your old phone wasnt saved to your sim card but instead your phone memory you wouldnt be able to transfer from one phone to another just a possibility but it could've been someother reason too

no longer all bluetooth enabled telephones are able to moving documents, maximum do nonetheless. in case you pick for to deliver a picture as an occasion, all you ought to do is click deliver via bluetooth then the different telephone's bluetooth could be enabled to boot to receive the record. it incredibly is an analogous factor with ringtones.
