I just got The Sims 2 Pets, but I can't get it installed. I have tried many times. It gets to 64% and once I put in Disk 2, it just stops. It won't go any further. The only time it actually fully got installed was the first time I tried, but then it said "Please wait" and froze up on me so I am having to do this all over again. I have tried shutting down all the background tasks, and I have restarted my computer. Nothing seems to be working. PLEASE HELP!

I have The Sims 2, Nightlife, and Open for Business, and all of those games have worked and installed fine.

After I tried for the second time to manually install it, it worked. Now it works just fine. Thanks for trying to help!

I am having the same problem. Since you are able to install and play the other expansion packs, I don't think the video card would be the problem. The installation goes fine, until the second disk is inserted, and like yours, stops at 64% and stops reading the disk. I actually had the game installed and had played it a few times, but my husband had the brilliant idea of doing a little housecleaning on the computer and somehow un-installed all the Sims2 programs. I installed the Sims2 and the three other expansion packs without problem, so that's why I don't understand what the problem is, because a problem with the game requirements would effect the other installations as well. Sims 2 requires a VIDEO CARD PC. Also, it takes up TONS of your memory. Try buying a video card (if you dont already have one) and/or a new drive. I had this EXACT same problem. Also, whether or not the actual Sims 2 game is nistalled doesn't matter. I played an expansion for it before I got Sims 2. Trust me, this IS the real answer.

this takes place to me alot yet attempt cleansing the disk it could have dirt or finger prints, then attempt lower back. if that would not paintings then u could have a defective disk and would return/substitute for a clean one
