Thanks everybody. As many of you aptly pointed out, it depends on the company. I guess I thought maybe there was a law here in California applying to this, but I have found out that according to my boss, it is not a holiday and I will be working! yay.
Anyway, thanks for the help!!!

depends on your work contract. Some will draw holiday pay, some will not. read your contract.

New Years Day is an official holiday in the U.S. and most nations around the world. Pay rates are a matter of company policies and depend on the industry. If you had to work to keep a factory going on New Years, you probably get "over-time" pay. In hotel & restaurant industries, probably the pay is standard.

would Day is a great competition in some factors of the rustic. we've the morris dancers dancing at first easy on the sea front, welcoming interior the would Day. we've the parade with Jack of the golf green and a great experience on the city. i could hate to work out it flow. In Rochester they have it as Sweeps Day - back, a great experience. Why could those die out through government interfearance? This lot would desire to not organise a piss up in a brewery!!
