Not that it would work, or that they would even get along, but pick a front-man for this odd, randomly dreamt-up band that I came up with off of the top of my head:

Drums-
Keith Moon

Bass-
Bootsy Collins

Keyboards (but not on every song)-
Donald Fagen (you know, Steely Dan?)

Guitars (alternating rhythm and lead)-
Eddie Van Halen
and
Jimi Hendrix

Such an odd combo would definitely be interesting to see and hear, maybe on a reality sitcom with them all living together and trying to come up with a double album and tour schedule.

What do you think? And pick a front-man...

Though, I'm thinking about changing the keyboards to Billy Preston.

You chose some of the best on each instrument, so the singer should be the best...
Maybe Jeff Buckley's voice would fit the kind of music they could come up with...
& he's as dead as some of the guys you picked! (I'm only kidding, he's my favourite singer of all time!)
Or a lady, that would be a bit different... Kate Bush? PJ Harvey? Patti Smith!!!
